Pablo Mielgo to close the Impacta concert series at Madrid's National Auditorium with Yende and Camarena

The Madrid-born conductor will bring the 2026/27 season of the Impacta series to a close with a grand operatic gala at the Auditorio Nacional, joined by two of the most celebrated voices in today's bel canto: South African soprano Pretty Yende and Mexican tenor Javier Camarena.

Impacta, one of the most distinctive projects on the Spanish musical landscape, will close its 2026/27 season at Madrid's Auditorio Nacional de Música with a large-scale operatic gala conducted by Pablo Mielgo. Designed to bring the most relevant voices of the moment to the public through carefully crafted programmes, Impacta has quickly become an essential date for opera and vocal music lovers.

On stage, Mielgo will reunite with two artists with whom he shares a long-standing artistic relationship: South African soprano Pretty Yende, one of the great figures of international bel canto and a regular at houses such as the Met, La Scala and the Royal Opera House; and Mexican tenor Javier Camarena, a benchmark in the Rossini and Donizetti repertoire and a triumphant presence in the world's leading opera theatres.

The programme will travel through some of the most memorable pages of 19th-century Italian and French repertoire — arias, duets and scenes by Bellini, Donizetti, Verdi and Massenet — in an evening conceived as a dialogue between two exceptional voices, sustained by the precise and luminous conducting that defines Mielgo's work in the operatic field.

The concert is also a natural continuation of the work developed by the conductor with both soloists in recent projects — including editions of the Cap Rocat Festival — and confirms his steady presence in Spain's most important classical music seasons. Tickets will be available through the official Impacta website.
